I got these for my 5-yr old son who just started hockey a few months ago. He was complaining of pain in his elbows when falling so I upgraded to these elbow pads from the basic CCM pads. They are super easy to put on, even over layers, and offer easy adjustment by pulling/releasing the lower strap. They stay put which was our number one concern because he’s moving around so much elbow pads can easily shift, these don’t. They offer more than enough protection for what he does at this level. They are a very good price for the quality and comfort you get. Highly recommend. For reference, my son is roughly 43 lbs on the lean side and I purchased a youth small. At this size, they will last him several years.
