Starting August 1, players competing in youth, girls, high school or junior hockey within USA Hockey are required to wear neck laceration protectors (NLPs) for all games and practices. In addition, on-ice officials under the age of 18 as well as players in all six disciplines within USA Hockey’s disabled hockey program are also required to wear NLPs.
The NG NLP21 Premium Neck Guard is a thin lightweight, and adjustable for player comfort. It features HeiQ Fresh Technology preventing odor-causing bacteria and is constructed with DuPont KEVLAR brand fibers for cut resistant protection. The Bauer NG NLP21 is BNQ and CE certified neck guard for all organized levels of play.

Great size
Got this for our recently turned 5 year old. Fits perfectly. On the tightest portion of the Velcro. Definitely room to grow. So much more comfortable than what I had growing up too many years ago.

Good protection
Love that this has Kevlar, wider than my son's previous neck guard for better protection and at an affordable price point. Perani's is the best! They care about the player and it's never a hard sell. Just great customer service every time.

Comfortable and not bulky
Both of my players prefer this neck guard over the rest because they don’t feel like they’re choking while wearing it, while still being protected from the possibility of being cut.
