Starting August 1, players competing in youth, girls, high school or junior hockey within USA Hockey are required to wear neck laceration protectors (NLPs) for all games and practices. In addition, on-ice officials under the age of 18 as well as players in all six disciplines within USA Hockey’s disabled hockey program are also required to wear NLPs.

The only neck guard my kids will wear
This neck guard shirt has saved my sanity when dressing my 7 year old boys for hockey. It used to be a battle when I had to force them to wear the separate neck guards, which were hard, itchy and rough. It was also close to impossible to get their helmets on over them. Now, it’s a one and done situation. I throw on the shirt and no one complains. The material is comfy, stretchy, moisture wicking, and has little rubber beads on the elbows to keep elbow pads in place. This shirt has saved me so much time and getting ready for hockey is way less hard!

Comfortable and protective
We’ve sized up twice now with this shirt. Gives me piece of mind knowing that my son has neck protection from major cuts while still being very comfortable for him.

Very comfortable and keeps a constant temperature!
My son had a different brand of a long sleeved neck protective shirt that was not as comfortable as this Bauer product. He reports that it keeps him a comfortable constant temperature out on the ice whether he is just warming up or has been playing for an hour with a lot of sweat. Will definitely buy another one to have on hand throughout the season.

Safety......
I can't say enough about the decision to make neck guards mandatory! This shirt by Bauer provides that protection and peace of mind for my wife and I as we watch our son play.
