The shell construction of the X8 is made utilizing multiple layers of high quality fiberglass to create a shell that is very rigid and light weight. This rigid shell is lined with high-impact absorbing padding providing protection from severe forces helping to reduce concussions . When SPORTMASK set out to design the new X8, we didn't only want to meet our customers expectations; we wanted to blow them away! The new X8 mask is largely based on its big brother, the T3, while offering a more affordable alternative for goalies not wanting all the features of the more expensive T3. The X8 is a similar design to the NHL masks worn by Cam Ward, Chris Mason, and Jonathan Quick. The design of the chin and forehead are specially crafted to eliminate direct puck impacts This design offers unmatched forward, downward and peripheral vision. Because safety is such a concern, the back plate fully covers the head for true 360 degree protection.
