These pads work great if you have a growing skater. My kid is too short for 11" shins, but no other brand had 10" shin guards that would fit because her calves are too big. The Winnwell shins have a much longer calf strap and the additional strap under/behind the knee to secure the guard in two spots. Definitely check these out if your skater is having problems finding shin guards with a strap long enough to fit around their leg.
